Campbell coal tower part whatever

Almost finished with this model!
This project has been one of the more challaging models that I've built in a long time. I've got the roofs finished and weathered. I made my corrugated and not shingled as supplied in the kit.

I need to touch up the underside of the roof since I see some shining metal.
A great way t improve your models is to take pictures of it and enlarge them. This way you can see things you might have missed


The gate mechanism was a bit fiddly. I would love to see the real gate in person, as I'm not sure about the lower end of the coal bin as built from the kit. From the pics of the real one in Chama, the coal gate drops down, but the floor joists are in the way. Sounds like I need to go on a road trip and look at this in person.

In the photo above, you can see the coal gate winding pulleys sticking out. I drilled them out and super glued them to some brass rod. These will locate the coal bin at the correct height.

Here is the finished coal bin. I added a piece of styene to the back side to raise the height of the wall as per the pics of Durago's tower. Chama is the same
